NYC 2013

Chris & I took a quick 3 day trip to NYC August 16-18.  We hadn't been since June 2011, and wanted a little getaway!  We stayed at the Refinery Hotel on West 38th.  It just opened in May, and was a perfect choice!  Modern decor, comfy bed, cool rooftop with a view of the empire state building!

We flew out first thing Friday morning, and were in NYC by 10am.  We dropped off our luggage at our hotel, and began exploring!  We had no plans, no reservations, and just did our own thing!

The first day, we walked all the way to the big lake in Central Park!

A guy in Bloomingdales recommended dinner at the Todd English Food Hall in the Plaza.  It was an awesome atmosphere, with seating at all different kinds of bars.

Then we went shopping at FAO Schwartz for the girls!
Rockefeller Center
Bryant park was only 2 blocks from our hotel.

Exhausted.  Walked over 12 miles our first day, and we didn't even get there until 10am!

Saturday breakfast at Pax Wholesome food!

Going up the wooden elevator in Macy's
 Subway!!!

Flat iron building.

lunch at LT Burger by Bryant Park - so good!

We loved the Gramercy park area! View of the Chrysler building between the buildings.

Dinner Saturday night at John's Pizzeria!

After pizza, we went back to our hotel and went to the rooftop to see this amazing view!

Then I wanted dessert.  These Mister Softee trucks were everywhere - so we got ice cream and ate in Bryant Park!

Sunday, we went to the Top of the Rock.  It was a little cloudy, but still beautiful.

Finally saw the Love Sculpture.  Didn't see it our first trip.

Many coffee/tea stops b/c there was a Starbucks on every corner!

View from Central Park down 6th Avenue.

Love: NYC architecture

Love: NYC shopping
Hate: crowds of people!
Hate: being away from my babies!

We missed the girls so much!  They had fun playing "go to you york" when we got home!  Hollyn filled our bags up with toys, and Bryn pushed our luggage around the house!
