NYC!

Chris surprised me with a trip to the Big Apple for our 5 year anniversary!   We already went to St. Lucia in February, so I wasn't expecting it at all.  I had asked a few weeks ago if maybe we could go to Branson or somewhere close just for the night, and he said he would take care of it.    - Not knowing that he had already planned our trip to NYC like 4 months ago!  My mom even took off work for two days to watch Hollyn! (Thanks Mom!)   He finally told me the Monday before we left on Thursday.  It was perfect because I didn't have time to get overly anxious about it, and just enough time to get everything ready!  We had such a good time!  New York is definitely added to one of my favorite places!

Here we are at XNA on Thursday, June 2nd

We flew 1st class to Atlanta, then to LaGuardia.  We usually don't get a plane with first class seats out of XNA, but we did this time & were thrilled!  I love having a drink on the plane to relax me and reading a book!

A stretch limo picked us up at the airport!

We stayed at the Trump Soho.  We had the cutest room on the 37th floor with a killer view!

Out the window of our room!

We could see Ellis Island from our room!

When we got to our room, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne were waiting on us!!!  Nick, Nora, John & Meghan arranged this for us.   (Thank you guys, that was so sweet of you!)

We started walking the streets in Soho and remembered that Lombardi's pizza was recommended to us!  We were so glad we went there!  The coal fired pizza was amazing!

We then walked down to Ground Zero.  We couldn't see much, just a lot of construction.
We also found Century 21 that night and did some shopping.  (We had to take a cab home after our long walk.)

Thursday night, we put the room service thing on the outside of our door for a romantic breakfast in our room.  Well, it never came....... So we called them and they rushed it to us FOR FREE.   It was amazing eating in our room in front of our awesome view.

We took a cab to Times Square!

Then walked around and saw some famous sites.

We went to FAO Schwartz and bought Hollyn a book  - "How Big is a Pig."

We walked all through Central Park.
The Bow Bridge

Hot Dog Stand... and no, we didn't eat a hogdog!

The MET

We ate lunch at Serendipity!  Here is our Frozen Hot Chocolate!

After lunch, we saw Hangover II.  {We weren't very impressed.}

After some shopping at Bloomingdales, we took a cab back to our hotel and got ready for our anniversary dinner!   We set up self timer on my camera!  It didn't turn out very well....

We ate at a fancy restaurant called Dylan Prime.  It was very dark with white table clothes, high prices, and a snooty waiter.   The food was great, but it wasn't really our style.   After dinner, there was an amazing sunset!  Even though I was in my very tall wedges and short dress, I had to get down the water to take a picture of the sunset!  Such an amazing way to spend the end of our anniversary!

Saturday, we took a cab down to Wall Street!

We got our picture with the Charging Bull.

Then took the boat tour to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

The view of the city from the boat was amazing!

That afternoon, we went back to Central Park and took a horse drawn carriage ride!  It was very romantic! : )

And we got to feed the horse carrots afterwards!

We then got our pictures drawn in Central Park!

We ate dinner at Carmine's that night.  They said our wait would be 1-2 hours, but we got in within 20 minutes!  It was great, but the portion size was HUGE.  We could have shared with 5 other people!

We made our way through the crowd of people in Times Square, went shopping at the Yankees store, then took a cab back to our hotel!

4 sweet days with just my hubby of 5 years = amazingness.

BUT we were thrilled to get home and see our princess!!  We missed her so much!  It was nice that we were able to skype with her everyday!

Here she is picking strawberries with Granny & Pawpaw over the weekend! : )
